THE BALTIC MASSAGE CHAMPIONSHIP
The International Center for Event & Course together with Thalissi Baltija are presenting a new message championship with a purpose to connect Massage Therapists from all the countries around the Baltic Sea. The championship will be held in Lithuania, Kaunas, St. Ignatius of Loyola University of Applied Sciences.

The Baltic Massage Championship aim is to develop a modern massage competition for professional massage therapists and for students and to provide a quality higher education which meets modern requirements. The participants are enabled to gain practical and entrepreneurial skills as well as international and social experience. High educated, judges and teachers will present their effective massage techniques and demonstrate their skills during the championship. Learning new techniques is one of our top goals and a distinction from other championships. As well, a lot of attention will be paid to development of a sense of belonging to society and social responsibility. The International Center for Event &Course and Thalissi Baltija has a vision to build a new networking platform for all massage therapists and to increase recognition of the massage treatments importance to have a healthy society. The Championship is primarily a competition, but at the same time it is an opportunity for Massage Therapists to find professional inspiration and networking. By participating in the Baltic Massage Championship, the Massage Therapists will get the opportunity to strengthen and improve their skills. A Diploma will be issued for each participant, enabling the Massage Therapists to brand their business in a new way. The winners will be awarded with medals and gifts and the best Massage Therapists will have the opportunity to participate in the World Massage Championship for free.
The Baltic Massage Championship is approved by the International Massage Association.
Date: The Baltic Massage Championship will be held in Kaunas 24-25 February 2023.

Participation fee-
For students or beginner masseurs: 50 Eur.
For professional masseurs: 100-150 Eur, the price depends on the number of selected categories 1 or 2.
Visitor's in final party fee: 30 Eur
and payment of the fee is 2023 02 15.

Participants and visitors are responsible for arranging and booking accommodation, flights, and local transportation. Who can participate in the Baltic Massage Championship: All students and massage therapists with a max 6-month experience as a massage therapist, SPA therapist, or masseur can participate in Student’s category. A professional massage therapist can participate in one or two different categories listed below. Participants must be from the countries around the Baltic Sea:

Latvia
Estonia
Sweden
Finland
Poland
Germany
Denmark
Participants from other countries are welcome to participate as well, please choose the open international category.
Let’s create together THE BALTIC MASSAGE CHAMPIONSHIP
Rules for participation:
1. Each participant may participate in one or two categories.
2. Participants must wear sports or professional clothing.
3. Participants should bring their own towels, sheets, tools etc. Thalissi Baltija is delivering massage oils to the Baltic Massage Championships in 2023. The participants are not obliged to use these products, but it is highly recommended using of them during the championship.
4. The recipient of the massage must wear underwear and cover the chest. Any area not worked must be covered.
5. Any massage of a sensual / sexual nature would result in immediate disqualification and expulsion from the competition.
6. Chiropractic and osteopathic manipulations during the competition are not allowed.
Massage categories:
1. Students’ category (can demonstrate 1 or 2 kind of massage).
2. Swedish massage category (classical massage, sports massage and deep tissue massage, tools are not allowed).
3. Freestyle massage category (all wellness massages, Asian massages, combination of different types of massage methods, chair massage, mobilization, cupping, tool massage, etc.).
4. Partial massage category (massage of face, massage of back, massage of feet, self-massage, and massage of one or two body surfaces, it is allowed to use tools).
5. Open International category (can demonstrate 1 or 2 kind of massage). It will be provided massage tables, chairs and mats for Asian massage, participants need to bring self. The height of the tables will be adjusted by the participants. The location of table/mattress/chair and receiver for each participant will be chosen by lot. Duration of each round is 45 minutes. Participants have approximately 5 minutes to examine the receiver before the massage is given.

Judges will evaluate the participants in the following areas with a point system:

Innovation and Development of new methods
Client contact
All decisions regarding the competition will be made collectively within the group of Judges – this is to make sure the competition is as fair as possible.
The Final:
The Duration of the Final is 45 minutes. Massage recipients will be professional and highly educated Massage Therapists and they can hand up to 6 points depending on their experience of the massage they receive. The head judges can hand out 3 points each to only one finalist. The winner of the competition will be the therapist who gets the most points. The winner of the competition will be named the Baltic Champion in Massage in 2023.
Baltic Massage Championship 2022 Program:
Day 1 - 24.02.23 - Championship 9.00 Check-in. Students´ category and Partial massage category for professional massage therapists. All day: Championship and round tables – seminars – networking – Master Class, medals for students and participants in the partial massage category. 16.00 Closing.
Day 2 - 25.02.23 - Championship 9.00 Check-in. Swedish massage category and Freestyle massage category for professional massage therapists. All day: Championship, Master Class program.
16.00 -18.00 Final, medals in Amphitheater of Žalgiris arena
Dinner discussion until 20.00

5. A short text about you, for example, how long have you been doing massage, what is your preferred style and what school did you finish or where you still study.
6. Select category or categories for the competition: Students´ category, Partial massage category, Swedish massage category, Feestyle massage category or/and Open International category.
